The Big Wide Calm  (a Novel)

by: Rich Marcello

The Big Wide Calm by Rich Marcello, is a fast ride of vivid, artistic writing and brain invading, rich character insight.

The deep conversational thoughts on paper that Rich so easily displays; weave in and out of his protagonist’s mind as she discovers herself through the songwriting process.

Introducing Paige Plant, a young, talented musician with raw talent, who is gifted with the opportunity of a lifetime to explore her creative muses in style.

This book is thought provoking on many levels and draws you into it’s beautiful messy world quite easily.

When Paige meets the complex, philanthropist John, her world is morphs into a shamanic journey of sorts, the sort of journey that opens doors usually closed at 25.

If you are willing to experience the ride with her, you won’t be disappointed. The hypnotic word crafting in this book will leave you wanting for more. I highly recommend!

Last Light Falling (The Covenant) Book 1 -By: J. E. Plemons

A must read! This refreshingly raw take on a post disaster America is a hybrid blend of teen angst reality and apocalyptic fiction. The descriptive attention to detail, pulls you in and keeps you there in this debut novel of biblical proportions by J. E. Plemons.

The first in a four book series, this story is set in the year 2053 and thrusts the 15 year old fraternal twins( Gabe and Arena) into a destiny based adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Strong, stubborn Arena and her nerdy brother Gabe are no strangers to heartache; the orphaned pair find solace in a caring foster family, but are bombarded daily with not only the chaos of a declining  nation but the wicked high school drama of bullying.

When a mysterious letter shows up on their 15th birthday and an even more mysterious stranger appears lurking in the shadows, Arena and Gabe find out that they are part of something much bigger than themselves. A clandestine destiny that unfolds to test not only their faith in humanity but in a universal higher power.

This book is well written and I love the thought provoking, descriptive details that make you feel as if you are right along side the two as they are experiencing the adventure. It is 317 exciting pages of faith and survival and it draws you in right from the start.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys, fantasy, sci-fi, or a teen based adventure series.

It has all the makings of the "next big thing", similar in style to the Lightning Thief Series by Rick Riordan.

Read it this week and send me your comments, you won't be disappointed!

I love books!!

As a child I was an avid reader. I had no internet to scour for hours on Saturday; so it was usually off to the library on my banana seat bike. The smell of the musty library was my first real addiction in life (besides coffee) and I would hover there for hours in reverent wonder of all of the knowledge that surrounded me.  Belle, from Beauty in the Beast? Yep, that is basically me in a nut shell. Except I made the mistake of marrying Gaston (my first husband) before realizing I had sadly chosen the wrong path. But that friends, is another story...

My favorite books growing up were in the paranormal genre or fantasy stories. I loved the mysteries of the universe all around me and even as a teenager held on to the hope that somehow "magic" was real.

The whimsical prose of Dr. Suess inspired a great love of poetry within me and due to that passion I became a published writer at age 11 (with a Haiku poem).  I published my first full book in 2008 (How to Kill a Princess) and have written three children's books this year. Penelope, the Grumpy Pony,  Baby's (First) Bible Verses and Children's Favorite Bible Stories. Each of them are now book apps available for download on Android, iPad or iPhone.

To this day, my love of literature and writing push me forward into new adventures in and out of my fantasy world.

If you have a book that you would like me to read and honestly review, please send me your book and I will be happy to review it.

Happy Reading!
